On the Go..

Well since Friday morning we've been pretty much non-stop. I managed to feel a little better and fulfilled my promise to the kids by taking them to the splash pad for a bit. They had a good time and it wore them out.. so we just scooped up dinner and met daddy back at home.
Saturday we had an early morning start.. I got up and cut back a few of my bushes and watered the yard. I knew I wouldn't have anytime once we got back from tee-ball so I knocked it out. After the game at which J played amazing!! He caught two balls in his glove playing first base! ;) {proud mommy moment}
That afternoon we had a wedding to attend, so we hurried home to get showered and ready. The kids got to come along at which I'm not sure was the best idea. I thought being up early for tee-ball and then no naps would be like asking for it. But they both did pretty good overall, J did get a little distracted during church service, but we made it through. It was fun seeing them at the reception.. drinking out of wine glasses as if they were pros! J got a chance to show off his latest dance moves.. kids crazy! I captured some video that I'll share soon too. K was a bit more shy, which was no surprise, but she did manage to dance with daddy & the groom! Go K!!
Today's been pretty chill thus far.. the kids and I got up early for a donut run, then came home to water the yard and fill the pool. We met up with grandma for lunch and then she took them for some afternoon fun. The hubs and I have been chilling out and enjoying the quiet. Not really looking forward to another work week, but I've got a few hours left, so I'd rather not think about that right now! ;)

Happy Sunday!

Our Week..

has been pretty laid back.. I woke up yesterday not feeling too well. Made it through the work day and then managed to take K to dance class that evening. I'm praying it's not that same congestion/sinus infection all over again. It took me almost three weeks to get over that. So other than not feeling too well and taking it easy we've just been hanging out. I did take a few minutes the other night to revamp my blog header and add Penny. I would almost say she's a camera hog! Speaking of Penny.. she's been great! She is super chill, which is so the kind of dog we wanted. She deals with both kids pulling her in every direction and has yet to even growl at them. She's got way more patience than I do! LOL.

This week was her first full days home alone and she did pretty good. We bought her a pillow bed and a few toys and keep her in the laundry room at night and during the day. So far she's had no accidents at night, which is wonderful. She did have one accident inside the house and that was upstairs. Tuesday I got home and she had no accidents, but did chew on my swiffer charger cord. I guess I was so happy because she didn't pee or poop that I kind of overlooked the whole charger thing, she caught me on a good day! Plus, it's not like she ate the swiffer and I can buy another charger pretty inexpensive. I have since moved this and put it away in the closet. Wednesday I came home and she had an accident on the tile. Thursday I came home and she had went pee in her bed, which I find kind of odd. She was pretty scared when I got home and actually wouldn't come out.. she was hiding in between the washer and dryer. I think she is aware that what she did was wrong and that might be why she was hiding. We have to keep in mind we don't know the condition she was living in before so we have to teach her our ways. Overall I am very hopeful that she is a good dog and will learn all in time. :)

Today we managed to run a few errands and are now home for nap time. I kind of promised the kids I would let them swim this afternoon, so I hope it cools down just a bit. We've been in the low 90's all week and it's HOT! Although we did get a nice shower yesterday, so that helped. Tomorrow we have J's tee-ball game and a wedding to attend, so I'm really hoping I can get to feeling better.

Happy Friday!

My little T-ball Player

This season has been truly amazing.. it's given us an opportunity to sit back and watch Jacob grow and really become confident in the sport. He loves baseball and looks forward to every practice and game. He asks me everyday if he has baseball, which is kind of funny. He's grasped the concept of the game and made a few friends along the way. I would say it's been great for all of us. It's not quite over just yet, we've got three more weeks but he had pictures last week and I managed to snap one of my own to share.

Jacob's T-ball Picture

I can't wait to see what sport he gets into next.. I would love for him to play a bit of everything that away he can choose what he likes best. You never know what you like until you try it right? ;)

Memorial Day Weekend

Have I really been off the last four days?!? Where has the time gone?!? It's been a fun weekend and I've managed to get a few things done that I've been putting off. Friday we ran errands and found some pretty good deals. I just love the owl bookend I found for K's room. I also managed to score a giant red "J" for Jacob's room, just didn't get a pic. I also found a cute iPhone case that for $6 bucks I was not passing up! ;)

Saturday we got up did a few more errands, had lunch at cracker barrel and then found our new pup, which by the way has a name now.. "Penny". She's been great so far and looks a lot different with her haircut! I can't wait till she gets all puffy again. LOL. That evening we had the neighbors over for some pool time and grilled up some fajitas.

Sunday we ran a few more errands before heading out to my brothers for a family crawfish boil. I hate crawfish, so we had burgers & hot dogs for those that are just like me. ;)

Today we've been taking it very easy.. the boys got up and went to hit a few baseballs while K and I went to the grocery store. We came home and let the kiddos swim a bit and then grandma & grandpa came over to visit and meet Penny. The husband fired up the grill for dinner while I got the kiddos ready for bedtime. We are all now nestled in for the night watching Alice in Wonderland. I loved that movie as a kid, so I was anxious for mine to see it.

Happy Memorial Day!! Big thanks goes out to all of the men & women who have served our country.

I'm not ready for another work week, but it's a short one so I'll take it and not complain! ;)

New Addition..

We don't have a name just yet.. but we are working on it. The kids are in complete awe and are really enjoying her company. She is a 6 month old miniature poodle mix. We adopted her from BARC and it was such a pleasant experience. Everyone there was so nice and it's amazing how many people volunteer to help rescue animals. I am so glad we were able to give her a good home. She's going for her first doggie spa day today.. think I could join her?!? LOL.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!

Destin, Florida {Day Three & Four}

Day three was amazing or more like breathtaking. We spent the morning on the beach playing and the afternoon checking out the Harborwalk and ended our evening with a sunset cruise. I was in awe and my poor camera was in overdrive and you poor folks are about to be photo dumped. Ha!

Destin, Florida

I loved the Harborwalk and not just because they had a Starbucks! ;)

Destin, Florida

The sunset cruise was like a 3-in-1.. we made a stop at crab island to collect seashells..

I let my husband be the guide while I sat in back with my camera..

My gal was fearless people.. she was collecting shells as if she was going to turn them in for money.

This guy filled his bucket and then just decided to run along the beach..

And of course there are those times when I am reminded that two is better than one..

I {heart} this picture of my loves..

And can you tell what my kids loved collecting.. hermet crabs and today we realized that one of those babies made it home with us.

Destin, Florida

There were so many boats out on the water.. just anchored out ready for the sunset.

We also got to go looking for dolphins at which wasn't all that hard. They were swimming all around us and I was flipping out!! It was the neatest thing and my kiddos were stoked.

Destin, Florida

The views just couldn't get any better..

It was an amazing sunset too.. just look at that color??

And when it was almost down the sky was still showing off.. I was impressed.

It was a wonderful boat ride and a great way to end the day. That evening we ate at this little italian place called LaFamiglia and it was out of this world.. I seriously would recommend it if you're in the area, by far the best meal we had the entire time.

Day four was our last day, and we totally made the most of it. I took a few shots of the kiddos on the beach and then we headed out for the pensacola avaition museum. This was on my list of to-do's for our drive back home.. I just knew J would be in heaven and I managed to get a few decent shots to hang in his room. That's what I like to call a win-win! ;)

We made the drive back home that afternoon and got in about 10pm that night.. I actually drove the entire way! We can't wait to go back.. it was such a fun trip and I am so thankful we were able to go.

Whew, it feels good to be caught up.. I was thinking those pictures were going to be the life of me. This past week's been pretty quiet for the most part, Jacob did have tee-ball pictures on Tuesday, so I'll post those soon. We're in for a long holiday weekend and I couldn't be more ready. We have zero plans, which leaves plenty of room for something spontaneous to happen.

Happy Friday!

Destin, Florida {Day Two}

Day two was loads of fun.. we started off by renting a pontoon boat, which I think everyone loved. The kiddos had a blast and they even got to play captain for a bit. My son's favorite thing was honking the horn.. go figure. We rode all around and made a few stops to play in the water. I am still in awe and a little, who am I kidding a lot jealous of their clear water. We totally got ripped off with Galveston and now I am unsure if visiting there will ever be the same. Boo!

Girl Driver Boy Driver

The scenery was amazing.. I could totally see myself living here. ;)

Destin, Florida

The kiddos just thought of it as a giant swimming pool and were totally fearless..

My Sweet Boy

Katelynn really got brave towards the end of our stay..

Katelynn & Daddy

I was happy to use the ol' point & shoot.. makes for some fun self portraits. Ha!

Destin, Florida

I loved this fence line so we took a shot even though the sun was beaming.. we needed this memory to last.

My Sweeties

My favorite part.. getting out right smack in the middle of the ocean and being able to touch!! This shot is brought to you by my little mini-me.. she's totally going to go pro photographer one day. My husband was rather impressed and I think she's almost got him convinced she needs her own "big girl" camera. FYI my husband's a major sucker, so I have no doubt she will get what she wants. Let's just say I may will have to intervene at the age 16. ;)

Swimming in the Ocean Daddy's Girl

That afternoon we hit the beach.. and this crazy mama got a wild hair for some Kayaking. I mean between the waves and clear blue water it was a must. Lisa and I had the time of our lives and I have a huge bruise on my hip to prove it and of course our men got the laugh of a lifetime, but whatever. Little man wanted a turn, so we took him out and he took it like a champ. I seriously want to go white water rafting now.. ;)

He's Ready!!

Day three is up next.. hermet crabs, sunset and dolphins!
